Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed into the jawbone to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. They are a popular and effective option for replacing missing teeth and restoring function and aesthetics to the mouth.

Initial Consultation
The patient will have an initial consultation with a dentist or oral surgeon to determine if they are a suitable candidate for dental implants.

Surgery
The implant, which is a small titanium post, is surgically placed into the jawbone by a qualified dental professional. Depending on the case, the implant may be placed in one or multiple stages.

Osseointegration
The implant is allowed to integrate with the jawbone over a period of several months. This process, known as osseointegration, allows the implant to become a stable base for the replacement tooth or bridge.

Abutment Placement
Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, an abutment, which is a connector piece, is placed on top of the implant.

Restoration Placement
The final step is to place the replacement tooth, which is usually a dental crown, on top of the abutment. This can be done after a period of healing, usually several weeks.
The whole process can take several months and multiple visits to the dentist, but the end result is a stable and natural-looking replacement for the missing tooth.
It is important to note that dental implants are a surgical procedure, and as such, it’s important to consult with a qualified practitioner to determine if it is the right option for you and to understand the potential risks and benefits.
